Samus and the Mimic Beam
Twisting and turning, rolling above lava pits and bombing through rocks, Samus finally reached the end of the tunnel. Slipping out of her morph ball, she let out an exhausted sigh. When she had first stumbled across the odd opening deep within Zebes core with her X-ray visor, she had thought it would end shortly, leading only to some previously explored room. But instead, the circuitous tunnel extended deep into some forgotten corner of Norfair, and now, dozens of meters later, she stood before a familiar sight.
